3 Simple Gifts for You on Christmas Day

First of all, I’ve missed you. I mean, really, really missed you. I’ll explain at a later date why my posts have been sporadic, but until then…please know how special you are to me.

Now back to my simple gifts:

1) A book recommendation.

Best ChristmasIf I could hand you each a personalized gift this Christmas, the book The Best Christmas Pageant Ever would top my list. I know. It’s sounds funny. A silly children’s book, right? But there’s a reason Amazon reviewers have rated this book over 400 + five stars. It’s comical. It’s clever. But best of all, it will change the way you perceive that very first Christmas and the importance of why we introduce this most magical event to others. (I’ve included the jack-cover copy below.) Honestly, I laughed so hard at one point I had to hand the book over to my eleven year old daughter to continue reading.

Loved it. And I think you will too.

2) A  message from my kiddos.

This last Sunday my children took part in our Christmas festivities at church. Interestingly, none of them had stage fright (hmmm), and this certainly shows Asher’s sillier side as Madison struggles to light the candles. advent I hope you enjoy their simple, yet most important message.

3) A promise of peace.

Jesus said,  “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” John 14:27

May God fill you with His gift of peace this season and throughout the New Year.

Merry Christmas!!

Love,

Dabney

The Best Christmas Pageant Ever

“The Herdmans are the worst kids in the history of the world. They lie, steal, smoke cigars, swear, and hit little kids. So no one is prepared when this outlaw family invades church one Sunday and decides to take over the annual Christmas pageant.

None of the Herdmans has ever heard the Christmas story before. Their interpretation of the tale — the Wise Men are a bunch of dirty spies and Herod needs a good beating — has a lot of people up in arms. But it will make this year’s pageant the most unusual anyone has seen and, just possibly, the best one ever.”

I had no idea there was a movie, Mrs. Klassen! I’ll have to track this down. Even though this was a children’s book, I had a hard time putting it down. Merry Christmas to you and your beautiful family!!!
